2nd Annual POWER OF COMMUNITY  – S.T.E.A.M Edition

OPB Foundation in partnership with Growth And Goals Mindset hosts weekly virtual workshops facilitated by experts in S.T.E.A.M fields designed to engage those who are interested in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematic fields.  Workshops were hosted every Saturday afternoon from April 3rd to May 1st 2021

Featured Events:

“All About Mechanical Engineering”  – What to expect after graduation, in the field of Engineering. Speaker: Josip Golja, Sr. Mechanical Engineer.

“Content Creation 101” – Learn how to create content right from your phone or camera! In this workshop, join Brianna Rohlehr (also known as the Visual Butterfleye) as she teaches us how to create dope content for social media through the three key stages of production.  Speaker: Brianna Rohlehr, Director/Editor & OPBF Ambassador.

“Math Can Be Fun” – Math can be intimidating for many, but it doesn’t have to be. Come learn about fun ways you can teach children math in a non-intimidating way, and create an enjoyable and interactive experience. Speaker: Dr. Andrea Duhon, Mathematician & OPBF Ambassador.

“Strategies for Becoming a Successful STEM student” – A discussion aimed at providing key tools to enable young adults to become successful within their academic and eventual professional, STEM pursuits. Speaker: Dr. Yasmine Daniels, Scientist/Chemist.

“Logo Design” – Logos are the visual representation for your brand. In this session, you will learn how to create a strong logo by generating creative ideas, choosing the right colors and style for your brand, customizing and file formats for select destinations (I.e social media).
