OPBF Announces Power of Community in the face of COVID-19

March 25, 2020 – New York, NY… In direct response to the pandemic of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), OPB Foundation announces the launch of our campaign “Power of Community – Focus on Body, Mind and Spirit”, highlights focuses on providing informational and instructive services online (such as, dance instruction, guided meditation, etc.) to ensure that we continue to work together, as a community, to adhere to CDC regulations and government mandates to stay home.

The “Power of Community – Focus on Mind,Body and Spirit” campaign, will launch on Friday, March 27th with weekly live events promoted through our social media platform, Instagram: @OPBFoundation using hashtag #OPBFPowerofCommunity

The components of Body, Mind and Spirit will feature:

  • Body –We will be partnering with AOS Dance Studio to provide a FREE virtual dance class on Friday, March 27th. Hosted by Mrs. Jessica ‘REMO’ Saul, Executive Director of OPB Foundation, and owner of AOS Dance Studio. It is important to continue to stay active and fit.
  • Mind –We will be hosting a INSTAGRAM LIVE, Q&A format session with Taina Lopez-Cartagena a health professional (Family Nurse Practitioner) and Partnerships Chair of OPB Foundation, on our @OPBFoundation Instagram, to help ease people’s mind and provide answers to any questions or concerns.
  • Spirit – We will be partnering with Rhina Valentin, Transcendental Meditator, TV Host of BronxNet and Creator of COLORS OF RHINA, who will lead a guided meditation on INSTAGRAM LIVE, to help calm the mind and ground our sprit and core.

In addition to these weekly live events, we will Co-host a fun Numerology 101 session with Celebr8YOU and then we will end with a Virtual Musical Entertainment session hosted by PHNX of the Make Party Movement

“As leaders, mothers, wives and community activists, we understand the importance of coming together to provide relief, hope and assistance in need,” says Jessica ‘REMO’ Saul, Executive Director, OPB Foundation.

“We’ve incorporated STEAM-related themes for this campaign. From using (Technology) to facilitate these events to having topics surrounding Health (Science), (Math) a la “REMO System” to learn dance and Numerology 101 session, to the spiritual (Art) of meditation to our ending the series with a virtual event that will incorporate a disc jockey and the art of music (Engineering),” says Betty Diaz, Marketing Chair, OPB Foundation.
